For more than four decades, Tattoo Phil's has welcomed clients seeking original artwork, skilled tattooing and a professional studio experience. Phil Thomas
Founder & Tattoo Artist
Phil is the founder of Tattoo Phil’s and an award-winning tattoo artist with over 40 years of experience. He opened his first studio in 1982, establishing Tattoo Phil’s as Northampton’s first registered tattoo studio. Today, he owns two studios in the town.
Now semi-retired, Phil continues to tattoo his regular clients, focusing on the styles he loves most. His experience and passion for the craft remain at the heart of Tattoo Phil’s.
Damian Thomas
Tattoo Artist
Damian, Phil’s son, began his career in 1995, starting with piercing and running the shop floor while learning the art of tattooing. In those early years, he worked mainly at weekends and at tattoo shows and conventions, building his skills and a client base before becoming a full-time tattoo artist in 1999.
Damian enjoys the variety of working across different tattoo styles, with particular favourites including Japanese and Oriental designs, traditional old school, and black and grey floral and animal pieces. Whether it’s a small, personal tattoo or a larger design, he welcomes projects of all sizes.
Abiola
Junior Artist & Piercer
Abiola joined Tattoo Phil’s in September 2023 as an apprentice, learning under Phil and Damo. Now working full time as a Junior Artist and piercer, Abiola enjoys creating custom designs and working with customers to bring their ideas to life.
Favourite styles include blackwork, Oriental, floral and dotwork, alongside an enthusiasm for exploring new styles. Whether you have a clear design in mind or an idea you’d like help developing, Abiola welcomes the chance to create something personal to you.
